Caring For Cats

Caring for cats should begin before it enters your house. Therefore, you should have all the proper necessities to accommodate the cat when it arrives. This includes the cat litter, cat litter tray, clean cat bowls, food, a cat carrier and comfy, warm bedding for the cat to sleep.  In addition they need annual vetenarian visits and grooming.

Cats are really very low maintenance pets, so caring for cats can be very easy.  They like to play with something and  play can be easily provided by a piece of string. Cats have finely developed hunting habits and any form of play that engages those habits will provide fun and exercise. Playing with a cat might be funny overall, but is completely satisfying after all.  Some cat  toys designed  for cats that are available at pet stores are good for cats to play around - balls, toy mice, cat fisher's etc will all give your cat hours of fun. After hunting play, cats will often crave stroking and can be quite insistent in demanding your attention.  Cats are very friendly, so caring for cats is always easy.

One bad habit of cats you will likely come across is scratching. Cats love to scratch in order to stretch themselves  and can damage furniture if not taken care of. For that, I strongly advise obtaining a scratch post, this will usually deter the cat from attacking your furniture, carpet, wallpaper and even your favourite curtains.

Try to brushing and combing your cat every day or at least twice a week.  Check for anything unusual in body or skin. See your vet right away if you find anything that seems suspicious.

Give your cat a comfortable and quiet place to rest and relax, and to be away from anything  that can disturb.  Get some soft cat bed, so it can sleep there comfortably.

Caring for cats can be really easy and  by no means an impossible task, they are very, very clean, independent animals and sometimes like to be left to their own devices, this is fine but never forget they will still require all your love and your attention.
